Can I really make a difference?

As we begin our Difference Maker series, there is a question that comes to the surface. Can I really make a difference? If we are honest with ourselves, that is something that we all want to know about our lives.

Our Campus Pastors reminded us yesterday that to really become Difference Makers our complete reliance is upon God. It's not about our own ability, but rather our level of surrender and trust in God.

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” - Matthew 5:14-16

The light shines in the darkness; it's how light works. When we step out and rely on God, we are trusting that the light that God has placed inside of us will be shared with the world. We can make a difference because God has given us all that we need to make a difference in our communities. The way that we live, the love that we share, and the good news (the light!) that we bring allows us to truly become Difference Makers.

You can be a Difference Maker today!
