This partnership brings affordability to a life-changing experience. So, it is our desire to build up leaders like you through character formation and spiritual formation in an experiential learning environment with academic integrity. Whether you are looking into Full-Time Ministry or Bi-Vocational Ministry, we believe that you are “equipped for a purpose.”

[ WHAT TO EXPECT ]

Highlands Fellowship College is comprised of three components:



Academic coursework

- Provided online through our partnership with Bluefield College.

- Students will receive an award-winning online education through Bluefield College. With a cohort style of learning environment, students are given the opportunity to collaborate and learn how to build a team.
- Each student will have an Academic Mentor who will assist the student with the academic coursework, to help with the understanding of content, encouraging assistance, and empowering accountability.

Leadership Practicum - 12-15 hours per week

Each student will have the opportunity for hands-on ministry experiences with Highlands Fellowship departments and staff. We will offer leadership development workshops with various Highlands staff members and special guests.
You will also discover and follow a “Ministry Track” for where God has called you and equipped you to serve and lead. Here are some of the areas you can participate in through your Ministry Track:
- HFKidz
- HFStudents
- Creative/Tech
- Worship
- Pastoral (Campus Life, Small Groups, Care)
- Operations

Campus Life

Each student will have a
Ministry Coach - give guidance, coaching, and practical experience in the students Ministry Track
Discipleship Mentor - ensure that the student is becoming the disciple of Christ that they are called to be.
Academic Mentor - tutoring, facilitating, and encouraging the students in their academic coursework.
Small Groups to live life together.
Student life activities throughout Southwest Virginia and beyond.
Weekly Chapel Experience where students will hear from staff and other leaders throughout the Highlands Fellowship Network. Chapel is also designed to allow students to craft their own service>

As an instructional site of Bluefield College, HFCollege is based out of the Ministry Offices of Highlands Fellowship in Abingdon, VA.
HF College is a full-time program. Students will have Fridays and Saturdays off as well as some evenings, and will have time commitments Monday through Thursday for Ministry Practicum as well as Academic Coursework. Students with Full-Time jobs will have an opportunity to work out a schedule with HFCollege to fulfill their academic coursework as well as practicum.
Tuition: $6,600/ year Technology Fee: $250/ year Site Fee: $3,000 *Housing not included
Yes! Bluefield College partners with Highlands Fellowship to host an instructional site on the church campus, and offer students accredited degree programs. Degrees offered: Associate of Science, General Studies Associate of Ministy Leadership Bachelor of Science in Ministry Leadership Bachelor of Science in Business Management & Leadership Bachelor of Science in Human Services

This is for anyone looking to gain a college education while receiving hands on experience and training in leadership and local church ministry. We are all “equipped for a purpose”. So, whether we serve full-time in the local church, global missions, or the business marketplace, HFCollege is kingdom focused on fulfilling the Great Commission and Great Commandment.
Academic coursework will be administered via an online portal. HFCollege uses a cohort learning environment. Academic mentors will facilitate learning group times throughout the week for students in their academic coursework. Practicum leadership workshops and classes will be taught in person by Highlands Fellowship Staff, volunteers, and other partners.
Yes! HFCollege is a full-time learning commitment and it is suggested to not add a job on if possible. However, there are times available to add a job.For students who already have a full-time job, we have a program that will suit you as well for your time.
Currently, student housing is not a part of HFCollege. However, there are options of where to stay throughout the community and HFCollege is able to help students identify places to live if needed.
